This role is for a Network Operations and Support Engineer at Old Mutual Kenya, based in Nairobi. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Network Operations and Support Engineer will perform the following key tasks:
- Infrastructure Management (LAN, WAN, Wifi, Internet, Branches, MPLS, VPN, Video conferencing)
- End user support of remote access VPN and Network Access Control troubleshooting
- Secure Network Operations by ensuring compliance to configuration standards and patching cycles for network and security devices.
- Generate reports on network and call center metrics.
- Liaise with service providers to resolve incidents reported.
- Incident, Problem and Change Management.
- Ensure an up-to-date inventory of hardware and software assets is maintained.
- Support the regional companies on infrastructure related support and projects.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications and Experience:
- BA/BSc/HND qualification is required.
- At least 2 years’ experience in networks support including, but not limited to, LAN, WAN, Wireless, Firewalls, telephony, contact center, and video conferencing.
- Experience supporting Network Access Control (NAC).
Technical and Professional Requirements:
- Understanding of Network Architecture Models.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP Architecture.
- Knowledge of emerging industry practices.
