Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse

Role Overview

Aster Healthcare is preparing for the upcoming launch of its state-of-the-art outpatient clinic in Kenya, aiming to bring a revolutionary approach to healthcare to Nairobi. The clinic is committed to providing accessible, high-quality healthcare services and is poised to set new standards in patient care and convenience.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Nairobi County, Kenya, for a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse. The nurse will be responsible for providing specialized care to critically ill or premature newborns in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Daily Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities include:

• Monitoring vital signs of newborns.
• Administering medications as prescribed.
• Operating and maintaining neonatal medical equipment.
• Providing emotional support to families.
• Collaborating with physicians, neonatal specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional and compassionate care to neonates.

Qualifications and Experience

• Trained and licensed Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse (NICU RN) with specialized expertise in high-acuity neonatal care.
• Qualification: BA/BSc/HND.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in NICU or pediatric care.
• Proven ability to care for critically ill and premature newborns, including ventilator and IV management.
• Compassion, patience, and strong attention to detail.
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
