MS Science Teacher (Tentative Position)

This role is for a Tentative Middle School (MS) Science Teacher at The International School of Kenya (ISK). Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Hold a University Bachelor's degree, or equivalent (an advanced degree in Education is highly desirable).

• Certification: Possess Teacher certification from an accredited university/college. The degree and certification should be relevant to the teaching position (Middle School Science).

• Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant teaching experience is required. International School experience is preferred.

• Pedagogical Expertise: Demonstrate a solid understanding of pedagogy and instructional approaches, curriculum design, and assessment aligned with ISK's mission, vision, and educational philosophy. This includes experience with:

  • Cultural proficiency
  • Understanding by Design (UbD) model
  • Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
  • Educational Technology
  • Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Student-centered approach
  • Conceptual inquiry

• Curriculum Knowledge: Experience with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and with OpenSciEd is highly valued.
