Job Description
The Medical Officer In Charge at Aga Khan Medical Centre, Homa Bay, is responsible for overseeing patient management, conducting clinical and surgical procedures, and managing daily operational activities of the medical centre. The role involves supervising staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, adhering to compliance and safety guidelines, and serving as the administrative and clinical leader of the centre.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment of patient and manage the patient case.
Performance of investigative and therapeutic procedures.
Perform minor surgeries.
Re-assess, follow up patients, and make patient referrals as necessary to optimize care.
Comply with the hospital confidentiality and privacy policies.
Manage the daily operations of the medical centre, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal patient experience.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate clinical and administrative staff within the centre.
Implement operational policies and procedures to enhance service delivery.
Prepare and present regular reports on the centre’s performance to the Head of Outreach.
Address and resolve patient complaints and concerns promptly and professionally.
Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Qualifications and Requirements
M.B.Ch.B or equivalent from a recognized University.
At least two years working experience in a similar position.
Must be Registered / Licensed by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
Competency in administration and emergency procedures e.g., ACLS, ATLS etc. will be an added advantage.
Excellent public relations and communication skills.
