Mechanic I-Transport

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance on university vehicles.
• Conduct diagnostics to identify and resolve mechanical faults.
• Operate university vehicles as a driver for staff and students, adhering to all traffic regulations and PSV requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure fleet roadworthiness.
• Perform emergency first aid and roadside repairs when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, parts used, and servicing schedules.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of KCSE level of education or equivalent.
• Clean valid driving license classes ABCE and PSV.
• Must have passed Occupational Test Grade II.
• Must have passed Government Trade Test II (Motor vehicle/Mechanic/Electrical).
• Possession of a Certificate in First Aid.
• At least five (5) years of satisfactory previous driving mechanic/electrician experience at Grade 3/4.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Minimum age of 30 years.
