About the Role
Nova Pioneer Education Group is seeking a dedicated Mathematics/Physics Apprentice Teacher for its Athi River School. The Apprentice Teacher will support classroom instruction, prepare learning aids, develop schemes of work, and foster a safe and engaging educational environment that promotes student development.
Key Responsibilities
Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable.
Plan activities that meet the social, physical, and emotional needs of the children.
Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the school curriculum.
Schedule stimulating learning activities for the children and prepare teaching aids to facilitate learning.
Devise games and activities, provide playing equipment, and ensure playing facilities and equipment are clean and safe.
Supervise children as they learn and play.
Observe and evaluate each child's progress and provide written reports to the Principal, other school leaders, and parents.
Monitor and keep records/reports of children's progress and development.
Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and selecting activities of interest to them.
Establish and enforce rules for behavior, policies, and procedures to maintain order among students.
Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guests, or other experiential activities.
Assist in bus loading and unloading.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
Qualifications & Requirements
Degree in Education.
Valid TSC (Teachers Service Commission) certification.
1 to 2 years of teaching experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility and adaptability in handling uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity.
Proactive problem-solving abilities and readiness to embrace continuous feedback.
