The Locum Laboratory Technologist is tasked with performing essential laboratory-based scientific medical investigations to facilitate accurate laboratory diagnosis, reporting directly to the Health Centre Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Registration, collection, and processing of client samples within the limits of specific tests.
- Communication of laboratory results.
- Maintain high standards of quality laboratory practice by use of proper reagents, well-calibrated machines, and a clean working environment.
- Preparation of laboratory reports.
- Participation in internal Quality Control (QC) programmes and logging findings in the appropriate registers.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications, experience, and competencies:
- A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Must have a registration certificate from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board (KMLTTB).
- At least two (2) years of appropriate experience in medical laboratory functions.
- Proficiency in ICT (Information and Communications Technology).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Self-motivated and a team player.
- Pleasant personality.
