Job Description
This Locum Laboratory Technologist position is based in Thika and reports directly to the Health Centre Manager. The overall purpose of this role is to perform laboratory-based scientific medical investigations necessary to provide accurate laboratory diagnosis for clients.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the following key functions:
Registration, collection, and processing of client samples within the limits of specific tests.
Communication of accurate laboratory results in a timely manner.
Maintaining high standards of quality laboratory practice by ensuring the use of proper reagents, well-calibrated machines, and a clean working environment.
Preparation of comprehensive laboratory reports.
Participation in internal Quality Control (QC) programmes and logging findings in the appropriate registers.
Position Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science.
Must possess a valid registration certificate from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board.
At least two (2) years of appropriate experience in medical laboratory functions.
Required Skills and Attributes:
ICT competency.
Excellent customer service skills.
Self-motivated and capable of working effectively as a team player.
A pleasant personality.
