Job Description
The role of the Locum Laboratory Technologist, reporting to the Health Centre Manager, is to perform laboratory-based scientific medical investigations essential for providing timely and accurate laboratory diagnosis to clients.
Overall Purpose of the Job
The incumbent will be responsible for performing laboratory based scientific medical investigation in order to provide laboratory diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
Registration, collection, and processing of client samples within the limits of specific tests.
Communication of laboratory results.
Maintain high standards of quality laboratory practice by use of proper reagents, well-calibrated machines, and a clean working environment.
Preparation of laboratory reports.
Participation in internal Quality Control (QC) programmes and log in the appropriate registers.
Position Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science.
Must have a registration certificate from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Board (KMLTTB).
At least two (2) years of appropriate experiences in medical laboratory functions.
Skills and Attributes:
ICT competency.
Excellent customer service.
Self-motivated and a team player.
Pleasant personality.
