The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the UN agency for human settlements, mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. The Urban Economy Branch of UN-Habitat focuses on promoting local capabilities.
The role of the Local Housing Sector Consultant is to contribute significantly to the development of localized housing profiles and policy recommendations specifically for Uzbekistan. This role operates under the supervision of the Chief of the Land, Housing and Shelter Section (LHSS) and with guidance from the international Inclusive Housing and Urban Development Expert, the Inter-Regional Advisor for Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia, and the Research and Advocacy Officer for Housing Rights, Diversity and Inclusion.
This assignment aims to support the development of a localized housing profile for a pilot city in Uzbekistan, with a dedicated focus on marginalized populations and migrants.
