Kenyatta University is seeking a qualified and experienced Lecturer (Pharmacognosy) to join the Department within the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic leadership through teaching, research, and student mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
Delivering lectures and facilitating practical training for Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and postgraduate students in Pharmacognosy and Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
Mentoring students and supervising research projects within the department.
Examining and assessing students’ academic progress as per university policy.
Developing and reviewing curriculum to align with standards set by the University, Commission for University Education (CUE), and the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
Engaging in continuous research and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
Coordinating academic programs and departmental operations as assigned by the Chairman.
Qualifications and Experience
Master’s Degree or equivalent in Pharmacognosy or Complementary and Alternative Medicine. (A PhD in a relevant field is an added advantage).
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree or equivalent.
Registered and with a current practice license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
At least two (2) years of academic or research experience at an institution of higher learning or research institution.
Current member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya.
