Kabarak University is a private Chartered institution of higher learning that provides holistic Christian-based quality education, training, research and outreach activities for the service of God and humanity. The University is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Lecturer in IT. The successful candidate will be responsible for academic instruction, curriculum development, and research within the fields of Computer Science and Information Technology.
Key Responsibilities
Teach and deliver lectures and practical laboratory sessions in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, and Computer Forensics in accordance with the approved curriculum.
Develop, review, and update course materials, teaching resources, and assessment tools in alignment with emerging technologies and academic standards.
Conduct research and publish scholarly work in reputable peer-reviewed journals and conferences in areas related to Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or Cybersecurity.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research projects, dissertations, and theses, while providing academic mentorship and guidance.
Participate in departmental, faculty, and institutional activities including curriculum development, academic committees, community engagement, and quality assurance processes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must possess a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Forensics, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
Possession of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Forensics, Artificial Intelligence, or related field will be an added advantage.
Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at a university, college, or recognized higher education institution.
Must have published academic work in reputable peer-reviewed journals or conferences.
Demonstrate competence in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computer Science and Information Technology disciplines.
Registration with relevant professional bodies such as Computer Society, ICT Authority, or other recognized ICT professional organizations will be an added advantage.
