Job Description
Kenyatta University is seeking to recruit a qualified Lecturer in Special Needs Education specializing in Emotional and Behavioural Disorders. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, conducting research, and providing academic leadership within the department.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Credentials: Candidates must possess a PhD in Special Needs Education, a Master’s Degree in Special Needs Education, and a Bachelor of Education in Special Needs Education, all in the respective area of specialization (Emotional and Behavioural Disorders).
Teaching Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience at a university or institution of higher learning.
Publications: Applicants should have published at least two (2) articles in a peer-reviewed journal.
Additional Advantages: For context across the department, certificates in Kenyan Sign Language and Audiology are advantages for Hearing Impairment tracks, while Braille proficiency is required for Visual Impairment specializations.
Terms of Service
A competitive remuneration package, which includes basic salary, house allowance, and medical cover as per the University Scheme, will be provided.
Please note that Tutorial Fellows (where applicable) are employed on a one (1) year renewable contract up to a maximum of three (3) years.
