Requirements for Appointment

To be eligible for appointment, the candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education:

  • Earned PhD degree from a recognized/accredited institution in Biology.
  • Have a Masters and Bachelors degree in the relevant area/field from a recognized academic institution.

• Publication and Research:

  • A minimum of 12 publication points from refereed scholarly journals and 2 points from abstracts presented at conferences.
  • OR from a research institution, a minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points.
  • OR from practice/industry, a minimum of six (6) publication points.
  • Note: Not more than 2 articles should be in a single issue/volume of a journal/other scholarly publications.

• Professional and Teaching Criteria:

  • Show evidence of evaluated effective teaching.
  • Be recognized and registered by relevant regulatory bodies where applicable.
  • Show evidence of membership/affiliation of a relevant professional body where applicable.
