Role Overview
The Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing complex diagnostic tests and analyses on clinical specimens to assist in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. The role requires strict adherence to laboratory protocols and quality standards to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic tests and analyses on various clinical specimens.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy.
Adhere to established laboratory protocols and safety standards.
Assist in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases through analytical findings.
Participate in and demonstrate understanding of Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS) initiatives.
Utilize Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) for reporting and data management.
Requirements and Qualifications
A Degree in Laboratory Sciences or a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
At least one year of internship working experience.
Registered and holding a valid license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
Trained in and demonstrates a clear understanding of Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Proficiency in computer skills, with a specific focus on Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
