Role Overview
Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) is seeking a Laboratory Technician (KAGRC Grade 8) to join their team. KAGRC formally known as Central Artificial Insemination Station (CAIS) was established with the objective of controlling venereal diseases and genetic improvement of exotic dairy Cattle.
Duties and Responsibilities
Preparing media for germplasm production;
Standardizing laboratory procedures and reagents;
Dispatching, analyzing, and preserving test samples;
Simple analytical laboratory work;
Keeping records;
Collection and analysis of samples; and
Receiving, recording, and packaging germplasm.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Applied Sciences (Applied Chemistry, Analytical chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, applied Biology), Medical Laboratory Technology or Biotechnology equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Proficiency in computer applications from a recognized institution.
