Job Description / Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of meals according to standard recipes, ensuring portion control and minimizing waste.
- Apply necessary precautions related to the hotel's food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
- Clean and maintain all equipment in the food production area.
- Attend all briefings, meetings, and training sessions as assigned by management.
- Support the kitchen team in various tasks, including food prep, plating, and kitchen organization.
- Learn and practice proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service.
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation.
- Participate in menu development and recipe testing under chef supervision.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Basic culinary training or education in a related field (BA/BSc/HND equivalent is preferred).
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Basic knife skills and willingness to learn various kitchen techniques.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Good physical health and stamina to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong communication skills in English.
