This role at All Saints’ Cathedral Church (ASC) is for a Junior School P.H.E. (Physical Health Education) & Kiswahili Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and high-quality lessons in both subjects to junior school learners. The role requires fostering student development in academic, physical, and essential life skills, managing sports programs, and undertaking general teaching and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and high-quality Kiswahili & P.H.E lessons across various sports and activities.
- Develop students' fundamental movement skills (running, jumping, throwing, catching, etc.), fitness levels (cardiovascular endurance, strength, agility), and knowledge of physical health and hygiene.
- Instruct learners on health-related topics, such as the benefits of exercise and healthy diets.
- Integrate technology into teaching and learning programs where appropriate.
Learners Development and Assessment:
- Motivate and encourage all learners, regardless of ability, to participate enthusiastically in Kiswahili & Physical Health Education activities and develop a positive attitude toward lifelong fitness.
- Foster the development of essential life skills like teamwork, communication, fair play, and good sportsmanship.
- Assess, monitor, and record learner’s progress, providing feedback to learners and parents on performance and areas for improvement.
Coaching and Extracurricular Activities:
- Lead and manage school sports teams and programs.
- Coach teams for internal and external competitive events and tournaments.
- Supervise learners in and out-of-classroom activities, including practices, games.
Safety and Environment Management:
- Provide appropriate safety instruction and conduct regular safety checks on all equipment and facilities.
- Establish and maintain standards of learners’ behaviours to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
- Be prepared to administer minor first aid and provide initial assistance in case of injury or illness.
Administration and Professionalism:
- Manage and inventory sports equipment, supplies, and instructional aids.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with learners, parents, counsellors, and other staff members.
- Participate in curriculum development, staff meetings, and professional growth activities to maintain and improve teaching competence.
- Ability to serve exclusively as a Class Teacher.
- Any other duty as may be assigned by the Principal or his delegatee from time to time.

Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Degree/ Diploma in P.H.E. & Kiswahili.
- Must be registered by TSC.
- 3 years previous experience teaching P.H.E. & Kiswahili preferred.
- Ability to handle other learning areas such as S/ST, Agriculture & C.R.E will be an added advantage.
