Role Overview
Absa Bank Limited is seeking an ITOM Configuration Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). You will monitor key performance metrics, configure remediation tasks for duplicate or stale Configuration Items (CIs), and govern data integrity across the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and ensure compliance of Configuration Management data in the CMDB to support the day-to-day delivery of Business As Usual (BAU) processes.
Ensure Configuration Management service levels are consistently met and services are reliably delivered.
Maintain reliable and accurate data stored in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
Ensure the Operating Model, Roles & Responsibilities, and Processes related to Configuration Management are clearly understood and communicated across the Technology Organization.
Health Dashboard Monitoring: Track the CMDB Health scorecard across three main KPIs: Correctness, Completeness, and Compliance.
Reconciliation and Remediation: Resolve duplicate CI issues, correct orphaned records, and tackle stale or outdated CIs (e.g., servers not scanned by Discovery in over 30 days).
Threshold and Policy Configuration: Set CMDB health metric thresholds, define health groups, and configure data certification audits.
Data Foundations Management: Align CI classes with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and optimize data populated by tools like ServiceNow Discovery.
Access and Governance: Work within the ServiceNow CMDB Workspace to set policies, govern CI relationships, and maintain security over class definitions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
