Cytonn Investments is an investments and real estate company, with offices in Nairobi - Kenya and the DC Metro area - U.S. We are primarily focused on offering alternative investment solutions to global institutional investors, individual high net-worth investors, local institutional investors, and diaspora investors interested in the East-African region.
To advance key growth initiatives, Cytonn Investments is seeking highly motivated, dynamic, hardworking, and self-driven team players to join the Investments Department. The individuals will handle various aspects of Public Markets and Alternative Investments, including Real Estate Research, Real Estate Investments, and Private Equity. Many interns who have successfully completed this program have progressed to work for world-renowned Private Equity firms, Financial Services Firms, and Corporates.
Responsibilities
- Conducting fundamental company and investment opportunity research and analysis, in Real Estate, Private Equity, Structured Products, Equities, and Fixed Income.
- Financial modelling and data analysis.
- Analysing historical and projected financial statements and investment data.
- Authoring original investments research.
- Preparing written reports and verbal presentations.
- Conducting country, industry, and capital markets research.
- Participating in the evaluation, formulation, and implementation of investment strategies.
- Contributing in investment meetings and review sessions.
- Conducting industry and customer analyses on behalf of the Investment and business development teams.
- Working with clients to develop a financial plan as the basis of providing sound financial advice.
- Preparing the relevant presentations for events.
- Complying with all corporate policies and procedures.
- Engaging in thought leadership and article writing.
- Any other duties as may be prescribed from time to time.
Requirements and Qualifications
- The ideal candidate should have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Upper Second Class Honours or equivalent.
- Minimum of a B+ in KCSE or equivalent.
- Sufficient progress towards professional qualifications in finance/investments (e.g., CIFA/CFA) or be a registered student and actively pursuing the CFA, CIFA, CPA, or CAIA qualifications.
- Excellent analytical skills and quantitative ability.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with great accuracy, organization, attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to carry out assigned projects to completion with minimal directions.
- Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and distill the most important takeaways to guide next steps.
