
Warehouse Receipt System Council (WRSC)
The Warehouse Receipt System Council (WRSC), a State Corporation established under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives by the Warehouse Receipt System Act No. 8 of 2019, is mandated to oversee the Warehouse Receipt System (WRS). WRS allows owners of commodities (Farmers or Aggregators) to deposit their goods in a certified warehouse and receive a transferable document (warehouse receipt) that can be used for financing.
The Investment Promotion Officer I role is pivotal in implementing the investment promotion function within the WRSC. This involves identifying, planning, and facilitating investment opportunities along the agricultural value chain, particularly concerning the development and utilization of privately and publicly managed warehouses, and ensuring financial linkages are established to support the WRS.
