Role Overview: Investment Accountant

This Full-Time position is based in Nairobi.

Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)

The Investment Accountant will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Prepare and manage capital calls and distribution notices using our investment accounting system.
• Reconcile capital balances between the investment module and general ledger.
• Record journal entries and prepare entity-level financial statements.
• Process monthly P&L rollups and maintain waterfall models for promote calculations.
• Ensure compliance with fund agreements, GAAP/IFRS standards, and internal controls.

Required Qualifications and Skills (What We’re Looking For)

Experience and Education:

• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in investment or fund accounting.
• A BA/BSc/HND qualification.

Technical Competencies:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with investment accounting systems such as Investran, Geneva, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS as it relates to investment valuation and reporting (This is appreciated).
