Role Overview: Investment Accountant
This Full-Time position is based in Nairobi.
Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)
The Investment Accountant will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Prepare and manage capital calls and distribution notices using our investment accounting system.
- Reconcile capital balances between the investment module and general ledger.
- Record journal entries and prepare entity-level financial statements.
- Process monthly P&L rollups and maintain waterfall models for promote calculations.
- Ensure compliance with fund agreements, GAAP/IFRS standards, and internal controls.
Required Qualifications and Skills (What We’re Looking For)
Experience and Education:
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in investment or fund accounting.
- A BA/BSc/HND qualification.
Technical Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with investment accounting systems such as Investran, Geneva, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS as it relates to investment valuation and reporting (This is appreciated).
