This international consultancy role is crucial for strengthening the effective utilization of the 'I Hear U' Social and Community Listening (SCL) platform across UNICEF's Headquarters/Global programme practices, Country Offices, and Regional Offices through dedicated technical support.The consultant will be instrumental in supporting offices with platform deployment, ensuring data quality, building internal SCL capacity, and driving system improvements based on user needs.
Scope of Work
The consultant will be responsible for the following key functions:
- Support Platform Subscriptions and Deployment: Provide tailored assistance to subscribing offices, aiding them with onboarding and deploying the I Hear You platform, resolving technical issues, and ensuring the effective integration of SCL strategies into their programming.
- Quality Assurance and Product Delivery: Ensure the quality assurance and timely delivery of all analytical products. This includes generating comprehensive reports and dashboards that effectively translate listening data into clear, actionable recommendations for programmatic response.
- Internal Capacity Building: Develop necessary training materials, facilitate targeted webinars, and provide consistent follow-up support to enhance the capacity of internal teams, enabling them to confidently apply social and community listening insights in their work.
- System Improvements: Actively contribute to ongoing system enhancements by meticulously documenting technical needs and user feedback. This requires coordinating closely with technical vendors to ensure platform improvements are fully aligned with operational requirements.
- Platform Promotion and Knowledge Sharing: Promote the I Hear U platform's value as a scalable solution for evidence generation, community engagement, and accountability. This involves documenting successful use cases and actively supporting global knowledge-sharing efforts.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- A Master’s degree is required in a relevant field such as social and behavioral sciences, communication, public health, sociology, anthropology, psychology, international development, journalism, or media studies.
Work Experience:
- At least 5 years of proven general experience in fields related to social and behavior change (SBC), SCL, social media management, digital monitoring, or digital data analysis.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and implementation of social listening and digital community engagement initiatives, specifically including the management of misinformation and disinformation in humanitarian or development contexts.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the analysis of digital sentiment, misinformation trends, and community feedback. This experience must include the ability to translate complex insights into actionable recommendations for programmatic or communication strategies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing specialized social listening platforms such as Talkwalker, Meltwater, Brandwatch, or Sprinklr.
