Internal Auditor I

The Warehouse Receipt System Council (WRSC) is a State Corporation in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives established by the Warehouse Receipt System Act No. 8 of 2019. The Council oversees the Warehouse Receipt System (WRS), a process where owners of commodities (Farmers or Aggregators) deposit their commodities in a certified warehouse and are issued a receipt.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Internal Auditor I will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Council's financial records and operational processes. Specific duties include:

• Carrying out audit checks and identifying any accounting errors.
• Collecting data on periodical financial returns, estimates, and expenditure.
• Examining vouchers, cashbooks, and ledgers confirming the propriety and accuracy of the transactions.
• Auditing of systems and processes.
• Auditing annual accounts and conducting financial audit.
• Identifying any accounting errors, cases of fraud, and initiating investigations.
• Carrying out audit inspections of the Council’s records.

Person Specifications (Mandatory Requirements)

Candidates must fulfill the following mandatory requirements:

• Have Served in the grade of Auditor II for a minimum period of three (3) years.
• Have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Finance, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance option) or equivalent degree.
• Have a Certified Public Accountants (CPA) part II or Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) part II or equivalent qualification.
• Be Proficient in Computer applications.
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
