Intern – Political Affairs

Responsibilities

• Documentation: Prepare and review documents, including correspondence, talking points, and background notes for the Political Affairs Unit.
• Research: Conduct comprehensive research on political, social, and economic developments in the Great Lakes region using public sources and internal data.
• Meeting Support: Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars; prepare detailed summary notes and reports.
• Logistical Coordination: Provide logistical and administrative assistance in organizing workshops, high-level meetings, and seminars.
• General Support: Perform other related duties as required by the supervising officer.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school program (Master's degree or equivalent, or higher) in International Relations, Political Sciences, Economics, Development, Public Administration, or other related fields.
• Computer Literacy: Proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., MS Office suite).
• UN Commitment: A demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter.
• Diversity and Inclusion: Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals from different cultural backgrounds and a willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
