
Media Council of Kenya
The Media Council of Kenya is an independent national institution established by the Media Council Act 2013 for purposes of setting media standards and ensuring compliance with those standards as set out in Article 34(5) of the Constitution and for connected purposes. The Council started as a self-regulating body in 2004 to regulate the media industry in Kenya.
The Media Council of Kenya (MCK), in partnership with recognised media houses, runs a media industrial attachment programme designed to provide journalism and communication students with practical work experience before graduation and to prepare them for the job market.
The attachment lasts for three months: January – March 2026.
Students pursuing a degree or diploma in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, Digital Communication or Corporate Communication who meet the requirements below are eligible to apply.
Successful applicants will be placed in recognised media and communication outlets across the country in the following areas of specialisation:
