Role Overview
Human Capital Outsourcing Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Hotel Supervisor to oversee day-to-day hotel operations in Nairobi. The Hotel Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating departmental activities (front office, kitchen, housekeeping, service areas), managing staff performance, maintaining high customer service standards, overseeing inventory and cash management, and driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management: Oversee daily hotel operations across front office, kitchen, housekeeping, and service areas. Coordinate activities across departments to ensure smooth workflows.
Customer Service Excellence: Monitor service delivery, maintain high standards of guest satisfaction, and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
Team Supervision & Leadership: Prepare staff schedules, allocate duties, conduct daily briefings, enforce discipline, and guide employees in their daily tasks.
Performance Management: Monitor employee performance against agreed targets, identify gaps, implement corrective measures, and coach staff to enhance service delivery.
Financial & Stock Accountability: Oversee daily sales, expenses, cash handling, and reconciliation procedures. Manage stock levels, purchasing, ordering, and inventory to minimize wastage and losses.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, food-handling requirements, and hotel operational policies.
Reporting & Administration: Maintain accurate operational records, staff documentation, and daily reports for submission to the Business Owner/Director.
Workplace Culture: Promote teamwork, resolve workplace conflicts, support staff onboarding, and foster a positive working environment.
Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers, service providers, and external stakeholders as necessary.
Skills & Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
Minimum two (2) years' experience in a supervisory role within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
Valid Health Certificate.
Demonstrated experience supervising and managing hospitality teams.
Strong understanding of hotel operations and customer service standards.
Basic financial management, cash handling, and reporting skills.
Good understanding of stock control and inventory management.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
