Superior Homes is seeking a qualified Hotel Accounts Assistant to manage financial records and ensure the accuracy of the trial balance within the hospitality sector. The role involves recording financial transactions, maintaining asset registers, and ensuring compliance with both government and corporate regulations. The successful candidate will perform regular reconciliations and prepare comprehensive financial reports to support the company's financial health.
Responsibilities
Ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting systems.
Continuous vouching of the entity's trial balance to correct possible errors and to verify General Ledger accounts balances at all times.
Maintaining fixed assets registers and ensuring that company assets are not misused and their existence is verifiable at all times.
Ensuring compliance with government and corporate policies, laws, and regulations.
Monitoring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and hotel procedures.
Undertaking cash and bank reconciliations.
Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers, and document business transactions.
Taking responsibility for daily stock takes, spot checks, reconciliation, and timely preparation of daily sales reports against expenses.
Responsible for verification of income, receivables, and debtors reconciliation.
Preparation of financial statements and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial positions.
Analyzing transactions and processes to identify areas where additional accuracies and efficiencies can be achieved.
Applying cost accounting methods to achieve efficient representation of cost center performance.
Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Responsible for all statutory obligations and payroll preparation.
Maintaining a system of accounts and keeping records on all company transactions and assets.
Requirements
Must have hands-on knowledge of the Sage System.
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Hospitality industry.
CPA Level 4 qualification.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
