Diageo is the world’s leading premium drinks company, a business built on the principles and foundations laid by the giants of our industry. This internship program offers students an opportunity to gain foundational professional experience in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) functions. The internship is fixed for a period of three months without extension.
Application Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the internship program, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Only students currently in their 3rd or final year of study can apply.
- Applicants should plan to continue their education once the internship concludes or be awaiting graduation.
- Candidates who finished their education and have spent over one year (12 months) since leaving school will not qualify for consideration.
- Must be undertaking a bachelor’s degree or equivalent at a public or accredited private academic institution.
- Must be on break/holiday from school during the entire internship period.
Desired Skills and Attributes
A successful intern must demonstrate a strong desire to gain professional experience and be exceptionally eager to learn and explore possibilities. Required attributes include:
- Strong listening skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to understand instructions and proactively ask questions.
- Excellent knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Very articulate with fluent English.
- Patience, strong attention to detail, and a committed, fast learner mindset.
- Ability to understand directions and work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Keen interest in learning about the markets and demonstrating pride in their work at this initial stage of their career development.
- A dedication to completing the full 3 months internship program.
Mandatory Documentation Requirements
Applicants must provide the following mandatory documents upon successful selection:
- Letter from your institution indicating you are a current student and/or require internship as part of the requirement for course completion.
- Personal Accident insurance cover valid for the duration of the internship.
- Bank account details.
- Copy of National Identity Card.
- Copy of KRA Pin Certificate.
- NSSF and SHA numbers.
