Job Description
The role of Health Records and Information Assistant III at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) involves providing accurate and timely patient registration, appointment scheduling, and health information management using the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS). This position is crucial for supporting clinical decision-making, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining compliance with confidentiality and regulatory standards.
Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) is a leading National Referral Hospital with a 650-bed capacity, equipped with state-of-the-art medical amenities, offering specialized services like Oncology, Trauma & Orthopedics, and Renal care. The hospital is located along Northern Bypass Rd. near Kahawa West, Nairobi.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head, Health Records & Information Services, the position holder will be responsible for the following:
Registering patients and booking appointments through the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) to ensure accurate and timely data entry.
Creating and maintaining electronic patient records within the HMIS for proper identification and continuity of care.
Updating patient demographic and clinical information promptly in the HMIS to reflect current status.
Retrieving patient records and reports electronically to support clinical decision-making and administrative processes.
Gathering and compiling health data from the HMIS for reporting, analysis, and performance monitoring.
Ensuring compliance with data security, confidentiality, and integrity standards in all HMIS operations.
Any other duty as may be assigned.
Key Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Registered member of AMRO-K.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
