This role, Head of Projects, is a senior leadership position within AGL (Africa Global Logistics), the reference multimodal logistics operator in Africa. AGL is part of the MSC family and relies on its extensive network across 50 countries to provide port, ocean, logistics, and railway solutions. You will be responsible for leading and administering the projects function within the Business Unit, ensuring strategic goals are met and commercial development is supported.
Mission Description
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for ensuring the projects kick off and the budgets are delivered.
- Defines processes/procedures for the successful administration of the project.
- Ensures the transition of the partnership from collaboration to joint venture.
- Supports the commercial development.
- Guides the solution roadmap, ensuring it aligns with AGL values and development initiatives.
- Build, inspire, and lead a high performing team.
- Responsible for overall administrative functions of the Unit.
- Oversee business development activities for Projects, Transit solutions, and Transport using the own fleet (general & heavy lifts).
- Monitor the Business Unit services to ensure that they are in line with customer expectations.
- Ensure the Operations are in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Determine and meet resource requirements including labour, equipment and investments in order to achieve the organization's goals.
- Establish and sustain relationships with strategic partners including, KRA, other government agencies and customers.
- Plan and oversee the execution of daily operational activities.
- Prepare annual budgets for the Business Unit (BU).
Profile and Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Master's degree in business (MBA/MSc/MA).
- Knowledge of Logistics, specifically Clearing and Forwarding.
- Minimum 6 years relevant experience in a busy logistics environment.
