The GMT-Finance role is an entry-level position designed for a finance professional passionate about financial activities, efficient operations, and embracing a diverse, result-oriented workforce focused on customer centricity. The core purpose of this role is to support the business's growth and operational efficiency. The GMT-Finance professional will specifically assist in running the Treasury function and preparing statutory reconciliations, filing monthly returns, and managing petty cash.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Downloading bank statements and preparing the daily bank listing file.
- Adding, deleting users, agents, and signatories.
- Uploading payments in the bank portal.
- Annual renewal of the Total bank guarantee.
- Annual renewals of bank facility letters.
- Reviewing/updating treasury-related SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Petty cash reconciliations and journal postings.
- M-Pesa payments and reconciliations.
- Quarterly sign-offs of East Africa bank signatories and M-Pesa.
- Monthly filing of PAYE, NITA & HOUSE LEVY.
- Monthly filing of WHT, WHVAT & VAT.
- Annual filing of motor vehicle Advance tax.
- Participate in process improvement projects and initiatives.
- Performing Intercompany Cross Charges.
- Booking Intercompany and 3rd parties AP (Accounts Payable) invoices.
- Processing Purchase Orders for suppliers.
- Uploading budgets.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Raise capex for all capital expenditures and manual additions.
Qualifications and Attributes
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Education: Relevant University Degree in Finance/ Accounting (BA/BSc/HND).
- Experience: 1 year of working experience, particularly entry-level experience in the financial space.
- Technical Skills: Microsoft Office and Excel Proficiency.

- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to make quick decisions.
- Ability to work at odd and extended hours.
