Role Overview
BURN is seeking a Global HRBP Manager – Factories to serve as a strategic partner to Manufacturing leadership across multiple countries. The primary objective of this role is to drive consistent, compliant, and high-impact human resources practices within our factory environments. You will oversee workforce planning, industrial relations, performance management, talent development, and leadership coaching, all while strengthening site-level HR capabilities to ensure operational excellence and growth priorities are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnering: Act as the HR Business Partner to Global Manufacturing and Site Leaders, aligning business goals with specific workforce and people strategies across all factory locations.
- Workforce Planning: Support headcount planning, optimize labor mix (permanent, casual, contract), and manage shift/seasonal ramp-up planning and productivity levers.
- HR Operations: Establish and drive a standardized HR operating rhythm, including monthly reviews and tracking people metrics through site HR teams.
- Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team on factory-specific hiring strategies, high-volume recruitment readiness, and reducing time-to-fill for critical roles.
- Onboarding and Training: Enhance induction and training effectiveness for factory staff, focusing on safety compliance and early-tenure retention.
- Employee and Industrial Relations: Lead IR strategies, overseeing case management standards, investigations, grievance handling, and union/worker representative engagements.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure consistent application of company policies and local labor laws across all jurisdictions, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
- Leadership Coaching: Provide coaching to plant and site leaders on performance management, culture building, and accountability.
- Performance and Compensation: Manage performance cycles, goal setting, and recognition practices; analyze factory pay structures, allowances, and market competitiveness.
- Organizational Design: Support change initiatives, including new production lines, site expansions, and automation processes.
- Talent Development: Own succession plans for critical roles and partner with L&D to build technical and leadership pipelines.
- Engagement and Wellbeing: Champion DEI, wellbeing, and ethical workplace practices, utilizing engagement pulses and site action plans.
- Data and Reporting: Utilize high-quality HR data (turnover, absenteeism, etc.) to drive informed decision-making.
- Capability Building: Coach and develop site HR teams through toolkits, audits, and best-practice sharing.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is advantageous.
- Certifications: HR certification (CIPD, SHRM, HRCI) is an advantage. IHRM Membership is required.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant HRBP experience in manufacturing or industrial environments. Multi-site and multi-country experience is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HR analytics. Familiarity with AI tools is an advantage.
- Industrial Relations: Proven experience handling discipline, grievances, and negotiations in a factory setting.
- Labor Law: Strong working knowledge of labor law principles and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Operational Strength: Comfortable managing shift-based workforces, overtime governance, and high-volume frontline populations.
- Communication: Excellent written and spoken English. Proficiency in Swahili or French is an advantage.
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to factory sites and work flexibly to meet operational needs.
