
One Acre Fund
One Acre Fund is a nonprofit organization that supplies smallholder farmers in East Africa with asset-based financing and agriculture training services to reduce hunger and poverty. This role is less focused on one-off data projects and more focused on building durable tools that people consistently use and trust. The primary objective is to build foundational, self-service BI data products that enable functions across the organization to make data-driven decisions.\n\n### Responsibilities\n\n#### Build Foundational, Self-Service BI Data Products\n* Design, build, and maintain high-impact, organization-wide dashboards (“tentpole dashboards”) that enable self-service analytics across functions.\n* Ensure dashboards and reports are accurate, well-documented, and built for long-term sustainability.\n* Monitor adoption and continuously improve usability and relevance.\n\n#### Own Analytical Domains and Partner with Data Engineering\n* Serve as the primary analyst for specific data domains (e.g. Finance, People, Supply Chain, etc.).\n* Deeply understand business processes and logic within those domains.\n* Own the full delivery of dashboards and data analytics products: make prioritization decisions, understand user needs, wireframe and design outputs, own delivery and iteration.\n* Partner closely with Data Engineers to ensure business rules are embedded in the warehouse and semantic layer.\n* Clearly communicate data limitations and ensure metric consistency.\n\n#### Strengthen Analytical Standards Across the Organization\n* Contribute to and help lead a community of practice for embedded analysts.\n* Codify and uphold standards for dashboard design, documentation, governance, and metric definition.\n* Support adoption of best practices in BI development and data storytelling.\n\n### Career Growth and Development\nWe have a strong culture of constant learning and we invest in developing our people. You’ll have the opportunity to shape a growing organization and build a rewarding long-term career.\n\n### Qualifications\n* 3+ years of experience in data analytics or BI development.\n* Strong SQL skills; working knowledge of Python or R preferred.\n* Experience building automated data workflows and scalable dashboards in BI tools (Superset, Power BI, Dataiku preferred).\n* User-Centric Data Design: Proven ability to practice stakeholder empathy—moving beyond simple requirements-gathering to deeply understand the operational context of users.\n* Understanding of data modeling concepts and semantic layers.\n* Ability to translate complex business logic into clear, usable data products.\n* Experience with data storytelling and communicating insights to diverse audiences.\n* English fluency.
