Diageo is the world’s leading premium drinks company, a business built on the principles and foundations laid by the giants of our industry. This internship program is designed to provide professional experience to students studying Food Science and Technology.
Internship Program Eligibility
To apply for this three-month fixed-term internship program, candidates must meet the following strict criteria:
- Academic Status: Only students currently in their 3rd or final year of study are eligible.
- Post-Graduation Status: Candidates should plan to continue their education once the internship concludes or be awaiting graduation. Candidates who finished their education and have spent over a year (12 months) since leaving school will not qualify for consideration. Applications from such individuals will be automatically declined.
- Institution: Must be undertaking a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a public or accredited private academic institution.
- Availability: You must be on break/holiday from school during the internship period.
Desired Attributes and Skills
A successful intern has a desire to gain professional experience and is exceptionally eager to learn and explore possibilities. Essential skills and attributes required for this role include:
- Strong listening skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to understand instructions, as well as not being afraid to ask questions.
- Excellent knowledge and proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications (MS Office).
- Very articulate with fluent English.
- Patient, possessing high attention to detail, and a fast learner.
- Committed, able to understand directions, and capable of working quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Keenness to learn about the markets, displaying a high attention to detail and pride in their work at this initial stage of their career development.
- A dedication to completing the full 3-month internship program.
Mandatory Application Documentation
Successful applicants will be required to provide the following documentation upon request:
- Letter from your institution indicating you are a student there and/or require the internship as part of the requirement for course completion.
- Personal Accident insurance cover for the duration of the internship.
- Bank account details.
- Copy of National Identity Card.
- Copy of KRA Pin Certificate.
- NSSF and SHA numbers.

- The internship is for a fixed period of three months without extension.
