This role is for an FP&A Manager placed with one of Achyutam's clients in Kenya. The manager will be responsible for driving financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis for the organization. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to deliver actionable insights, support strategic decision-making, and enforce financial discipline throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Develop robust financial models to support business outlook and scenario planning.
- Coordinate with department heads to gather assumptions and validate inputs.
Financial Analysis
- Perform detailed variance analysis (budget vs actual) on revenue, cost, and profitability.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare monthly financial dashboards.
- Identify business trends, risks, and opportunities based on financial performance.
Management Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Management Information System (MIS) reports for leadership.
- Present clear insights on financial performance and business drivers.
- Support board presentations and investor reporting (if applicable).
Business Partnering
- Work collaboratively with sales, operations, and procurement teams to understand business needs.
- Provide essential financial guidance for pricing decisions, cost control strategies, and investment evaluations.
- Support strategic projects with comprehensive financial analysis, including calculating ROI, cost-benefit analysis, and payback period.
Financial Modelling
- Build and maintain dynamic financial models essential for business planning.
- Support long-term strategic planning (typically 3–5 year business plan).
Process Improvement
- Streamline reporting processes, automate FP&A activities, and continuously improve data accuracy.
- Enhance the budgeting and forecasting tools/systems utilized by the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- MBA, Chartered Accountant (CA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), MIS, or financial analysis (based on seniority).
- Strong understanding of P&L (Profit and Loss statement), balance sheet, cash flow statements, and core financial ratios.
- The candidate must possess an excellent command of Advanced Excel and strong financial modelling skills.
- Exposure to major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills are essential.
