The Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining robust financial policies, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business objectives and sustained growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the group’s accounting function, ensuring accurate reporting and effective financial policies.
- Provide financial analysis and guidance to support business plans, targets, and key drivers.
- Maintain robust, compliant financial systems to meet current needs and enable growth.
- Lead, mentor, and resource the finance team for optimal performance.
- Support annual budgeting by reviewing assumptions and market conditions.
- Ensure timely compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, providing clear performance insights.
- Coordinate annual and special audits with auditors and authorities.
- Manage cash flow, collections, and working capital to strengthen internal controls.
Key Qualifications and Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA(K) or ACCA finalist).
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior finance or accounting role within a busy commercial enterprise, external audit, or consultancy firm.
- Experience in the agriculture sector is an added advantage.
