The Finance Officer, operating within the African Centre for School Leadership (ACSL), plays a crucial role in ensuring the implementation of high-quality management of financial resources at the VVOB country office. This position contributes directly to VVOB's ambition of promoting quality education globally.
Position in the Organisation
- The Finance Officer reports directly to the Operations Manager.
- You are an integral part of and collaborate closely with members of the operations team working under the ACSL programme.
- Furthermore, you will work closely together with the other departments in the country office.
Result Areas of this Position
1. Accounting and Administrative Support
- Provide comprehensive accounting and administrative support to ACSL programmes, including meticulous bookkeeping, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Regularly book invoices and journals accurately into the accounting system (Navision).
2. Payment Management
- Ensure timely payments are made to staff, partners, and service providers (including the Revenue Authority) utilizing online banking platforms (EFT and mobile money).
- Review and monitor the cash position of local bank accounts.
3. Financial Control
- Support monthly bank, cash, and supplier reconciliation processes.
- Administer workshop budgets efficiently.
- Support the operations teams with crucial contract management and maintenance of the inventory asset lists.
4. Process Improvement
- Facilitate continuous improvement of VVOB’s financial and accounting processes, and actively participate in knowledge sharing within the organization.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a BA/BSc/HND qualification in a relevant financial or accounting field.
