Job Description
The role of a Field Assistant (Reference: EXT/KMF/TEMP/4 – 1 Post) at the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI) involves providing crucial hands-on support for research activities related to aquatic systems, covering both marine and freshwater environments, with a specific focus on fisheries and aquaculture.
Job Specification
Duties and responsibilities at this grade include:
Assisting in collection and transmission of fisheries and aquaculture data to scientists.
Assisting in the maintenance of fish ponds and aquaria.
Cleaning of laboratories, fish ponds, and aquaria.
Assisting in seining and harvesting fish from ponds.
Assisting in feeding of fish in fish ponds and aquaria.
Assist in observing and reporting abnormal behavior in aquaculture systems.
Assist in observing and reporting functional faults in aquaculture systems.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade as an officer, you must have:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) D Plain or equivalent.
