Environmental Science Interns

Diageo is the world’s leading premium drinks company, a business built on the principles and foundations laid by the giants of our industry. This is a fixed 3-month Environmental Science Internship in Nairobi designed to provide professional experience and exposure in a corporate setting, focusing on Safety and Environment (HSE) aspects.

This role requires commitment, eagerness to learn, and strong foundational skills. The internship is for a fixed period of three months without extension. You will be required to complete an online test as soon as the application process is closed to progress through the recruitment process.

Eligibility and Qualifications

This internship is specifically aimed at current students:

Student Status

• Only students in their 3rd or final year can apply for these opportunities. They should plan to continue their education once the internship concludes or be awaiting graduation.
• Candidates who finished their education and have spent over a year (12 months) since leaving school will not qualify for consideration. If you apply, your application will automatically be declined.
• You must be undertaking a bachelor’s degree or equivalent at a public or accredited private academic institution.
• You must be on break/holiday from school during the internship period.
• A dedication to completing the 3 months internship program is required.

Required Attributes and Skills

• A successful intern has a desire to gain professional experience and is exceptionally eager to learn and explore possibilities.
• Strong listening skills are required to perform this role.
• Oral and written communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to understand instructions and not being afraid to ask questions.
• Excellent knowledge in the use of Microsoft applications is needed.
• Must be very articulate with fluent English.
• Patient, attention to detail, fast learner, committed, able to understand directions, and can work quickly and accurately under pressure.
• Keen to learn about the markets and also with a high attention to detail and pride in their work at this initial stage of their career development.

• Letter from your institution indicating you are a student there and/or require internship as part of the requirement for course completion.

Personal Documentation:

• Personal Accident insurance cover for the duration of the internship.
• Bank account details.
• Copy of National Identity Card.
• Copy of KRA Pin Certificate.
• NSSF and SHA numbers.
