Role Overview

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) provide vital pre-hospital emergency medical care, patient assessment, stabilization, and prompt transportation to medical facilities during emergencies.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:

• Possess a Certificate or Diploma in any of the following disciplines:
  • Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
  • Emergency Medical Technology
  • Pre-Hospital Care
  • Paramedicine
  • Or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Have a valid EMT certification or training recognized in Kenya.
• Hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized institution.
• Hold a valid practicing licence where applicable.
• Possess a valid Class BCE driving licence with Public Service Vehicle (PSV) endorsement (may be required for ambulance operator roles).
• Demonstrate computer application skills.
• Possess good communication, teamwork, and emergency response skills.
