Early Years Homeroom Teacher (Maternity Reliever)

The Early Years Homeroom Teacher (Maternity Reliever) position is based at the Aga Khan Academy Nairobi. This role is responsible for ensuring the holistic development and well-being of young learners in the Nursery class.

Role Summary

The Early Years Teacher – Nursery will be responsible for creating a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for young learners, aligning with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Early Years framework. The core duties involve planning and delivering age-appropriate, inquiry-based learning experiences that foster each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The teacher serves as the primary point of contact for the class, requiring strong communication with parents and close collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s degree combined with a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education).
• A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a multicultural collaborative team and environment.
• Proficiency in utilizing technology as a teaching and learning tool.
• Possession of a valid Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration certificate.
• Must hold a Certificate of good conduct.
