Early Years Homeroom Teacher (Maternity Reliever)

The role of the Early Years Homeroom Teacher – Nursery (Maternity Reliever) is centered on creating a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for young learners, ensuring alignment with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Early Years framework.

Role Summary

This position involves planning and delivering age-appropriate, inquiry-based learning experiences that actively foster each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The teacher will serve as the primary point of contact for the class, necessitating strong communication with parents and close collaboration with colleagues to ensure the holistic development and well-being of every student under their care.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Creating a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for young learners.
• Planning and delivering age-appropriate, inquiry-based learning experiences that adhere to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Early Years framework.
• Fostering each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for the classroom and managing parent communication effectively.
• Collaborating closely with colleagues within a team environment.
• Ensuring the holistic development and well-being of each student.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s degree complemented by a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
• A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an international school setting.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a multicultural collaborative team and environment.
• Must be conversant with the use of technology as a teaching and learning tool.
• Must possess a valid Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration certificate.
• Must possess a Certificate of good conduct.
