The Early Post-Doctoral Researcher will join the ViGOR Study to lead genomics and bioinformatics efforts. This role involves managing genomic data pipelines, conducting advanced computational analysis, and collaborating with international partners such as the Warwick Genomics and Bioinformatics team. The researcher will be responsible for delivering integrated insights for Central and East Africa and supporting the project's overall management to ensure high-quality and timely completion.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n* Ensure the ViGOR Study's full compliance with internal protocols, policies, procedures, and legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements across all research phases.\n* Network and partner with the Warwick Genomics and Bioinformatics team and other ViGOR partners to deliver integrated genomics insights and support project management.\n* Work with the Principal Investigator to identify sustainable funding opportunities and develop proposals for research grants.\n* Develop and maintain user-friendly learning materials, including computational tools, pipelines, and dashboards to support surveillance and routine model inference.\n* Organize and deliver short online refresher courses and mentor ViGOR Genomics and Bioinformatics fellows, students, and interns.\n* Prepare policy briefs and manuscripts for publication in reputable scientific journals and present research at meetings, conferences, and workshops.\n* Provide direct supervision to the study research and operations team members and participate in HR management tasks.\n\n### Vacancy Requirements\n\n* Minimum PhD in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Epidemiology, Computational biology, Virology, or any other relevant field from a recognized university.\n* Minimum One (1) Year Academic and/or Practical experience in handling Genomic Data Pipelines at a reputable Research institution.\n* Demonstrated experience in capacity building and the use of current technology in Health Research, specifically the cloud-based computational Genomic Data Pipelines, Bayesian inference/MCMC.\n* Demonstrated high levels of integrity and confidentiality.\n* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.\n* Ability to work with diverse, multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with internal and external collaborators.\n* Excellent analytical skills and ability to deliver quality outputs within strict timelines.\n* Strong team coordination and decision-making skills.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) e-recruitment portal at .
