Driver (3 Posts)

This role, designated EXT/KMF/TEMP/25 – Driver (3 Posts), is a contract position within the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI). The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned vehicles, vehicular maintenance, and related administrative duties.

Job Specifications (Duties and Responsibilities)

The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:

• Driving vehicles as authorized.
• Keeping up-to-date work tickets for vehicles.
• Cleaning of the assigned motor vehicle.
• Preparing and submitting regular reports on the motor vehicle assigned.
• Maintaining a proper mechanical working condition of the vehicle.
• Ensuring security and safety of passengers and the vehicle on and off the road.
• Adherence to or observations of traffic laws.
• Reporting any incidents to police and/or the office immediately they occur.

Person Specifications (Qualifications and Experience)

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

• At least One (1) year driving experience.
• At least a mean grade D+ (plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for classes of the vehicles the driver is required to drive.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
