Job Description
Amentum is a global leader in designing, engineering, and modernizing critical systems and programs of national importance across defense, security, intelligence, energy, and the environment. We are currently seeking a Distribution Manager to be based in Lamu. The Distribution Manager will serve as the primary government point of contact, managing day-to-day execution and oversight to ensure that compliance, performance, and reporting requirements are met successfully. This role involves direct oversight of operations, personnel scheduling, and subcontractor management.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary government point of contact for the program.
Manage day-to-day execution and provide comprehensive oversight of distribution operations.
Ensure all compliance, performance, and reporting requirements are met successfully.
Act as the designated Point of Contact (POC) for direct oversight and subcontractor management.
Oversee all scheduling of personnel, work supervision, and quality control processes.
Recommend, develop, implement, and enforce procedures/programs to increase efficiency and improve cost effectiveness for the program.
Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in logistics or contingency operations management.
Proven experience in managing projects, contracts, funds, and resources.
At least three (3) years of previous supervisory experience, preferably within a government contract environment.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; however, 10 years of government or private sector work experience may be substituted for the degree.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong computer skills, specifically proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Ability to successfully pass any required medical assessments and maintain readiness for the duration of deployment.
Ability to obtain a country visa as required by the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
