
Makueni County Public Service Board
The Director of Lands, Urban Planning and Development is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding spatial planning, land-use management, and urban development policies within Makueni County. The Director will oversee the implementation of orderly physical plans, county development controls, and ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and professional planning standards.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\nFor appointment to this grade, an applicant must:\n* Be a Kenyan citizen;\n* Hold a Bachelor's degree in urban and regional planning or a related discipline from a recognized university;\n* A Master's degree in urban and regional planning from a recognized university will be an added advantage;\n* Hold a certificate in the Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) or an equivalent qualification lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution (this will be an added advantage);\n* Be registered as a Physical Planner under the Physical Planners Registration Act, 1996;\n* Be a member in good standing of the Kenya Institute of Planners (KIP) or the Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planners Chapter);\n* Have at least five (5) years of post-qualification professional experience in physical and land use planning, with at least three (3) years of experience in a senior managerial position in the Public Service or Private Sector; and\n* Not be otherwise disqualified under the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya or any other written law.\n\n### Important Application Details\n* Only shortlisted and successful applicants will be contacted.\n* Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce original National Identity Card/Passport, original academic and professional certificates, transcripts, and registration certificates during the interview.\n* The Makueni County Government is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
