Job Description
The Deputy College Principal plays a vital role in the leadership and administrative management of the medical training institution at P.C.E.A Tumutumu Hospital. The hospital, established in 1909 and governed by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa, is a 203-bed facility providing holistic health care. The Deputy Principal is tasked with maintaining high academic standards, overseeing student and faculty development, and ensuring the seamless operation of the college's educational programs.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership: Provide guidance and oversight for the college's curriculum and educational activities.
Administrative Management: Assist in the daily management of the institution, including solving problems and meeting strict deadlines.
Teaching and Learning: Integrate Information Communication Technology (ICT) into teaching and learning processes.
Student Development: Understand and address the psychology and unique learning needs of young adult students.
Collaboration: Work effectively within a team and relate professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Compliance: Ensure all programs meet the standards of the relevant professional and regulatory bodies.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related medical field from a recognized university. A Master's degree or postgraduate qualification in a health-related discipline or medical education is highly preferred.
Experience: At least five (5) years of relevant teaching or professional experience in the medical field.
Professional Registration: Must be registered by the relevant professional body with a valid private practicing license.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to integrate ICT into teaching and learning; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Training: Training in medical education or management is an added advantage.
Personal Attributes: High level of integrity, professionalism, ethical conduct, flexibility, and a willingness to learn.
Religious Affiliation: Must provide a recommendation letter from a religious leader.
