Deputy Chief Economist

The County Government of Nandi is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional for the position of Deputy Chief Economist. Nandi County, famously known as the 'home of champions' and Kenya's athletics hub, is looking for an individual to drive economic policy research, statistical analysis, and development planning. This senior role is critical for providing expert economic advice, leading teams, and ensuring high standards of professional competence and integrity within the county government's operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate economic research, policy analysis, and statistical activities within the county.
• Provide strategic technical advice on economic and development planning matters to senior leadership.
• Oversee the collection, interpretation, and analysis of economic data to guide decision-making.
• Manage and mentor professional staff, ensuring effective performance and adherence to results-oriented targets.

Requirements for Appointment

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or a closely related field is typically required.
• Professional Experience: Served in the field of economics, policy research, and statistics in the public or private sector for at least ten (10) years.
• Competence: Demonstrated outstanding professional competence, ability, and integrity as reflected in past work performance and results.
• Management: Significant managerial experience necessary for the effective management and leadership of staff.
