Credit Control Officer

The Credit Control Officer is responsible for managing the organization's accounts receivable and debt collection efforts, focusing specifically on bills coverage for both corporate clients and cash patients within the hospital setting. This role is crucial for ensuring timely payments, minimizing bad debts, and maintaining smooth operational flow concerning patient financial clearance based on departmental policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Focus on the areas of bills coverage both for corporate clients and Cash patients.
• Carry out a range of duties including contacting clients by email, letter, phone and other means to follow up on letters of undertakings and payments.
• Ensure admissions are checked, bills are secured in the right corporate accounts, and the right amount of cash deposits are collected based on agreements.
• Ensure SHA notification is done and rebate captured in the bill.
• Provide accurate information to both Internal and External clients.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, ensuring quality care and teamwork.
• Manage the discharge process for patients while striving to reduce the waiting time and ensuring the rebated amount is reflected accurately in the bill.
• Ensure the final bill is printed with all charges, including doctors’ fees, and biometrics are captured as per the corporate’s requirements.
• Confirm that both Preauthorization and Claim forms are signed by the patient before clearance is done.
• Actively work to avoid rejections from corporate clients and minimize bad debts.
• Prepare invoices for dispatch to the finance department.
• Ensure standard and smooth flow of the process and procedures as per departmental policies.
• Deliver quality services and customer service excellence in the Hospital.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/Finance Option), CPA II or equivalent.
• Diploma in Business Management and Credit Management.
• IT Related experience.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Debt management.
